Walk around the World for Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust!
Organise a sponsored walk in your area – any distance or at any time – until 7th November 2009 and raise awareness of brain tumours.
Have fun and get a little (or a lot!) fitter by organising your own walk and raising much-needed funds for SDBTT. All you need to do is donate your sponsorship money and the total mileage walked by you and your friends to SDBTT and help us to achieve the International Brain Tumour Alliance “Walk around the World for Brain Tumours™” target of circling the earth five times at the Equator (125,000 miles or 200,000 kilometres). It couldn’t be simpler!
It really is a terrific way to encourage family, friends and work colleagues to get behind brain tumour research and patient information and support, and to have a very sociable time, too. From river walks to moonlit strolls… there really is something for everyone by organising your own tailor-made walk!
Get walking for SDBTT!
Funds raised will contribute to continuing top-quality research into childhood and adult brain tumours. Your support means that together we will make a real and lasting difference to all those who are affected by this devastating disease. Out of the £420 million spent each year on cancer research in the UK less than 1 per cent goes towards brain tumour research. That’s why SDBTT needs your help to fund more research. It’s the only opportunity that we have to beat this disease.
You can find everything you need to organise the perfect walk on our website. There are walk ideas and planning tips to help you get creative – whether you’re walking with friends and family at the weekend or taking a stroll at lunchtime with your work colleagues – and you can print off various materials to help promote your event in your local area.
You can download a “Walk around the World” pack below or, alternatively, you can contact us at enquiries@sdbtt.co.uk to receive a pack in the post.

We would be thrilled to hear that you are planning to organise your very own “Walk around the World” event and look forward to hearing all about it (and seeing the photos!) once it’s all over and you’re putting your feet up!
So please get walking around the world for SDBTT and brain tumour awareness. Your money and miles really do matter!
The 2009 Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours™, a project of the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA), is being held between 1 January and 7 November 2009. People are
encouraged to undertake sponsored walks to raise awareness about brain tumours and to donate the mileage covered to the World Walk’s target of circling the earth five times at the equator (equivalent to 125,000 miles or 200,000 kms).
The World Walk symbolically unites all those around the globe whose lives have been touched by a brain tumour. For further information about the International Brain Tumour Alliance and the Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours™ see www.theibta.org.
