Joanne Lynn runs Great Scottish Half Marathon

Despite a torn hamsting, Joanne Lynn still manages to run a half marathon for SDBTT

Joanne Lynn, our wonderful fundraiser who raised £230 in support of those living with a brain tumour, shares her story with SDBTT:

‘Four years ago my husband died following complication that arose when the hospital tried to remove a small benign brain tumour. We only found out in the May of 2007 that he had this tumour, in March 2007 he suffered a seizure whilst at home and after being diagnosed with epilepsy, a subsequent MRI scan discovered the tumour. He passed away in August 2007.

When I decided to run the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon, I decided to run for a charity that would make it personal to me, so after looking on the internet decided on the SDBTT. On September 4th 2011, I ran the Half Marathon and completed it in 3:13:54, a slower time than anticipated but at around mile 6, I tripped and tore my hamstring, I was determined to finish and doggedly carried on to the finish.’

Joanne’s inspirational story, demonstrates just how fantastic our fundraisers really are and we are so lucky to have their support. To share your story, email enquiries@sdbtt.co.uk.
