Join Dawn and put the kettle on!
Everyone loves a good cuppa, including SDBTT Patron Dawn French, so why don’t you gather your friends to indulge in the Great British tradition of tea!
If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea, why don’t you organise your own ‘T’ themed party? Here are just a few ideas to get you started:
- Rope in a couple of friendly teenagers to organise party games and entertain the kids while you and your friends relax.
- How about a clothes swap? Ask everyone to bring along an unworn/little worn item of clothing and you’ll all walk away with something new for your wardrobe.
- How about an evening G&T party? Replace cakes with canapes and offer a choice of drinks to get the party started.
- Hold a ‘Teddy Bears’ picnic party for the little ones.
- Got a partner who can’t bear the thought of hanging around your tea party? Tell them to ‘tee off’ – donating to your fundraising for such a great opportunity of course! Or go the whole hog with a tee & tea party at your local golf club.
Big or small, themed or just downright posh, impress your friends, family and colleagues while enjoying a catch-up over a cup of the nation’s favourite.

‘T’ parties can be held anytime throughout March or you could choose to hold your party (and theme it) around a particular day or event, for example St Patrick’s Day, St David’s Day, Mothering Sunday or a Six Nations rugby match. No matter what your party theme is, simply charge a small fee for everyone attending (we suggest £5) and enourage extra donations during the event. Don’t forget to ask your local bakery, supermarket or off licence to donate the goodies you need, for example tea bags, milk, cakes, gin. Any donation will mean you can raise more money.
There are so many fun and innovative ‘T’ party themed ideas that you can create a party that’s just right for you and your friends. Each party hosted during BTAM will help us continue our vital brain tumour research. Don’t forget to let us know the date of your ‘T’ party and your theme – and send us some pictures afterwards!
