SDBTT is tickled pink to have been picked by the Farnham Round Table as one of the supported charities for the Farnham Charity Bike Ride on the 1st July 2012.

This popular annual event is for cyclists of all ages and ability, with 25 and 50 mile routes that take in the very best scenery, picturesque villages, and testing (but definitely doable!) climbs. The event is being sponsored by a number of local businesses who are rather generously offering cyclists a number of discounts including 25% off a bike service before the event, and discounted physiotherapy rates.

You can enter online for this event by visiting www.farnhambikeride.org.uk. There is a small entry fee, and each cyclist will receive a free t-shirt, pre and post event massage, and free drinks and light snacks. Children under 16 even go free when accompanied by a paying adult, and you can save £5 by entering before the 27th June 2012!

There is no set sponsorship amount for this event, but every penny that you raise for SDBTT is vital in our fight against brain tumours. We will be there on the day to cheer you on and to provide support before, during and after the bike ride; make sure you let us know if you’re taking part!

More information about the event can be found by visiting www.farnhambikeride.org.uk, or by emailing info@farnhambikeride.org.uk. Alternatively, please email Katie on kmosses@sdbtt.co.uk.

The Enduroman Arch to Arc is known as the most gruelling and challenging endurance event known to man, it involves an 87 mile run from London’s Marble Arch to the Dover coast, a swim across the English Channel to the French coast and finally a 181 mile bike from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Many people and teams have attempted this ultimate challenge, but few have successfully completed it. The Boxfit team not only wants to complete this challenge, but their goal is to beat the world record and they’re putting themselves through this for SDBTT.

Boxfit will be embarking upon this adventure on 22nd September 2012, the team consists of 6 members. All team members will be dedicating much time to train together and prepare for this extraordinary challenge. Only 4 teams have ever completed this challenge, the current world record stands at 35 hours and 53 minutes and the Boxfit Team have secured an official Guinness World Records Representative to follow this record breaking attempt.

The team are taking on this challenging event on behalf of the Friends of SDBTT Benjamin Reep Group. To keep updated on how the training is going please visit www.boxfit.org.uk for the latest news on this.

To support the Boxfit Arch to Arc Team and make a donation please go to https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/boxfit6.
