SDBTT starts the year with two parliamentary events on brain tumours

There are two parliamentary events just around the corner that we are pleased to be a part of, and we hope to gather those who have been affected by brain tumours, supporters, donors and researchers to unite to raise the profile of brain tumours and the concerns of all of use affected by them.

Monday 30th January, London: Andrew Lansley to address All Party Parliamentary Brain Tumour Group

Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, will explain how the new Health Bill will affect the treatment of brain tumours at an All-Party Parliamentary Brain Tumour Group meeting organised by the Brain Tumour Consortium on Monday 30th January in Portcullis House, Westminster.

Wednesday 29 February, London: Summit to launch Brain Tumour Awareness month (March)

200 campaigners, clinicians, patients and politicians will mark the start of Brain Tumour Awareness month at a summit in London on Wednesday 29 February. The summit will focus on issues such as NICE’s improving outcomes guidance, early diagnosis and brain and CNS tumour research funding. Patient Information and Support Days

Our Patient Information and Support Days are free to attend for brain tumour patients and their friends, family and carers.

They involve presentations by professionals in the brain tumour field, such as neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists and specialist nurses.

Typical topics covered include:

Epilepsy
Memory loss
Coping with a brain tumour diagnosis
Treatments
Financial advice and the help available.

We have a number of days already planned for 2012, on the following dates:

Barn dance in Bedfordshire!

If you are in the Bedford area on Saturday 11th February, why not take your partner by the hand and do-si-do down to Clapham Village Hall where you can help support SDBTT at a fantastic musical event.

Tickets are just £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. The event starts at 7.30 pm.
