Only applicants who are successful at the outline application stage will be eligible to submit a full application and will be provided with the relevant form and instructions in Mid-June 2012. They will be required to submit their full application form by the deadlines indicated in the table below under ‘Key timings’. In the meantime, you can download a draft full application form to refer to here.
You may wish to seek additional advice and information on the best way to complete your application. For example, you may find NCRI Grantmanship Gateway www.ncri.org.uk/grantsmanship useful in providing guidance for certain aspects.
Assessment of submissions
Full applications will be subject to full peer review primarily against the following criteria:
- Relevance and potential impact for brain tumours
- Relevance to the SDBTT Research Strategy
- Originality and importance
- Feasibility and methodology
- Suitability of team and environment
- Appropriateness of support requested
- Value for money
- Ethics
Reviewers will also consider the wider benefits of the research e.g. public engagement, staff training and development.
Applicants will have an opportunity to respond to peer review comments before the GRAM meeting, at which all full applications will be reviewed. Applicants will receive the comments in mid/late-November 2012 and have approximately one month to respond.
